Natac and IFFE Biotech Join Forces to Lead the Natural Healthy Ingredient Market

Madrid, Spain, July 12, 2023 – Natac Group, a leading company specialised in producing sustainable botanical extracts with proven health benefits, is joining forces with IFFE Biotech, a biotechnology subsidiary of IFFE Futura based in Spain, to establish a dominant business group in the natural healthy ingredient sector. With a wide range of products based on extracts from various plants and high-quality Omega-3, the new group aims to create a solid market presence and capitalise on the growing global demand for natural ingredients.

The union between Natac Group and IFFE Biotech will create a leading group in the natural healthy ingredient sector, listed on the BME Growth market. Natac Group, currently a partner of IFFE Futura’s Omega-3 subsidiary, will contribute its expertise in botanical ingredients through a non-cash capital increase. This strategic partnership leverages the synergies of both companies, enabling maximised revenue potential and optimised cost management.

The newly formed group will drive significant R&D activities, supported by a robust scientific department that ensures continuous innovation and flexibility to meet evolving client demands. The Business Plan for the combined group aims to achieve revenues exceeding 28.5 million euros in 2023, and a normalised EBITDA of 9 million euros.

We are excited to embark on this journey with IFFE Biotech,” stated Antonio Delgado, CEO of Natac Group. “This partnership marks a significant milestone for our company, following our remarkable growth in recent years. It provides us with a solid platform to fulfil our ambitious business plan and unlock future opportunities.”

With an extensive portfolio of products already embraced by consumers worldwide and long-term relationships established with top-tier clients, the group is well-positioned to meet the increasing demand for natural, healthy ingredients. This collaboration will further optimise revenue potential, streamline costs, and enhance research and development capabilities, enabling continuous innovation to address evolving consumer preferences.

Equipped with three state-of-the-art factories operating on a circular and efficient business model, ensuring sustainability and high-quality output, the new group will possess large production capacities. The Omega-3 plant, located in As Somozas, Spain, and expected to commence operations in early 2024, will be the largest Omega-3 facility in Spain, with an annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 tons. In addition, the Hervás, Spain, plant will continue focusing on processing 3,000 tons of botanical extracts from various plant sources, while the Córdoba, Spain, plant will continue specialising in extracts derived from olives.

The collaboration between Natac Group and IFFE Biotech will bring together their scientific expertise and innovative approaches to drive continuous product development. With an unwavering commitment to research and development, the new group will constantly adapt to market demands, providing cutting-edge solutions and maintaining its competitive knack in the natural ingredient industry.

For IFFE Futura, this operation is the culmination of a project conceived many years ago, which has materialised in the creation of a leading group in the field of natural healthy ingredients, with tremendous growth potential,” said David Carro, President of IFFE Futura.

The natural ingredient industry has witnessed an upward trajectory driven by increasing consumer awareness of the health benefits associated with natural and sustainable ingredients. In particular, the demand for Omega-3 has surged due to its positive impact on reducing the risk of diseases and promoting overall well-being. With a vast body of scientific evidence supporting the benefits of Omega-3, including cardiovascular health, joint protection, proper brain function, and visual acuity, the new group’s refined Omega-3 products will cater to the food, pharmaceutical, and veterinary sectors. Furthermore, the products will serve as essential components in infant nutrition formulas and dietary supplements, enhancing the health and well-being of individuals across all age groups.

The new group is committed to driving innovation, meeting market demands, and delivering superior products that promote a healthy lifestyle. With an estimated market capitalisation exceeding 300 million euros and a strong growth trajectory, the partnership between Natac Group and IFFE Biotech sets the stage for continued success in the natural ingredient industry.
