Dedicated to the study and promotion of aromatic medicinal plants (AMP) in Extremadura. We analyze how the growing conditions affect the phytochemical profile of the plants and their potential for use in commercial products. The study includes species such as Echinacea purpurea, Echinacea angustifolia, Melissa officinalis, Valeriana officinalis, Salvia officinalis and Urtica dioica.

Cynara cardunculus (cardoon) is a key crop for the production of Torta del Casar cheese, in which only the pistils of the flower are used. Natac’s goal is to valorize the rest of the plant, taking advantage of its high content of phytochemicals of interest to obtain extracts from this biomass.

The company NATAC BIOTECH, S.L.U. is the holder of file CC-0665-P11, the investment in which has been subsidized by the Regional Incentives aid line. The aim of this procedure is the installation consisting of a plant for the extraction and purification of bioactive compounds of plant origin, located in the municipality of Hervás, in the province of Cáceres.
