We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician for our headquarters in Galicia (As Somozas).

Functions of the job position:

  • Analytical laboratory techniques for the fats and oils industry.
  • Analytical techniques for drinking, process and waste water.
  • Experience in water treatment management is a plus.
  • Use and operation of analytical software.
  • Use and operation of chromatographic equipment (HPLC and GC).
  • Experience in the use of ICP-OES equipment is desirable.
  • Interpretation and evaluation of results and decision-making based on them.
  • Recording and maintenance of data and results in the designated formats (paper and electronic) with rigor and precision, correctly completing the required information.
  • Orders and stock control for laboratory materials.
  • Compliance at all times with safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Monitoring of standard working procedures, as part of the Company’s continuous improvement policy.
  • Use of computer applications for laboratory management (LIMS)
  • Notifying the direct supervisor of any incidents with products ad analytics, and participating in their resolution.

Requirements:

  • Training: Degree in chemical sciences, food science and technology or other similar field.
  • Other knowledge: Knowledge of HPLC and GC.
  • Computer skills: Office software package at an intermediate level.
  • Level of English: B1
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Experience in the fats and oils industry is desirable.
  • Concern for order and quality. Attention to detail.
  • Cooperation and work on a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Planning and organization.
  • Specific knowledge of applied chromatography.
  • Rigor in the analysis of analytical results.
