Natac Biotech, a biotechnology company specialized in the production of botanical extracts and natural ingredients, is strengthening its role as a key player in innovation in Spain by once again ranking among the top 20 companies with the highest return in the Horizon Europe Programme (2021–2024).
Specifically, the company ranks seventeenth alongside multinationals such as Indra, Telefónica, Airbus and Acciona, according to a report recently published by the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (CDTI) on Spain’s participation in the aforementioned research and innovation programme.
Natac’s role in Cluster 6 – Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment – stands out in particular, where the company ranks among those with the highest return and is the leading company in terms of funding secured.
At the regional level, Natac also ranks as the leading private entity in Horizon Europe funding in Extremadura, a region that has achieved a historic record of €26.35 million received over four years under the programme.
As highlighted in the CDTI report, Natac participated in two projects between 2021 and 2024, leading one of them: SustaiNext. This initiative is driving the transformation of its plant in Hervás (Cáceres) into the most modern, sustainable and innovative extract biorefinery in Europe.
