Natac Biotech, the main company of the Natac Natural Ingredients Group (BME: NAT) dedicated to the sustainable production of botanical extracts, is to receive 1.5 million euros from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism within the framework of the second call of the PERTE Agroalimentario.
The grant, which represents the fourth largest amount awarded in this call, will be used to finance part of the equipment of the new plant that Natac is building in Hervás (Cáceres) within the SustaiNext project. Specifically, it will be used to implement a comprehensive solvent recovery system that will allow the recovery and reuse of most of these products.
This technological improvement will contribute to optimising the efficiency of the industrial process, while significantly reducing the generation of waste and the costs associated with its management.
This is the second time Natac is beneficiary of PERTE Agro. In its first call it received more than 1.4 million euros for the Biodinam project, which seeks to transform agri-food biomasses from avocado, nuts or grapes into high-value ingredients for the food industry. This project is part of the Spain Food Valley initiative.
