Natac participated for the first time in the EU Green Week, the European Commission’s main annual event on environmental policies. Under the slogan “Circular solutions for a competitive EU”, this year’s edition has highlighted the urgent need to place circularity at the core of Europe’s transition towards a cleaner, more competitive, and resilient economy.
Luis Serrano, Natac’s Senior Scientific Researcher, travelled to Brussels to represent the company and present the technological and environmental innovations of the ambitious Sustainext project. An initiative involving twenty European partners, led by Natac, which will transform the plant in Hervás (Cáceres) into the world’s most modern, digital, innovative, and sustainable biorefinery for plant extracts.
Sustainext’s stand aroused great interest among the attendees, including the European Commissioner for the Environment, Water Resilience and Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall, who was particularly interested in the transformative potential of the project for the bio-based industry.
