Natac Group (NAT), a biotechnology company specialised in the sustainable production of botanical extracts and functional oils with proven health benefits, announces the first edition of the National Awards for Research in Natural Products.
These awards seek to encourage and acknowledge scientific excellence on natural products and their applications for people’s health and wellbeing. In particular, they seek to encourage the research and development of knowledge in key areas, such as applied biotechnology, the extraction of bioactive compounds and health, with a special focus on the responsible and efficient use of natural resources.
José Carlos Quintela, Natac’s scientific director, underlines the importance of these awards: ‘At Natac, we believe that scientific research is the key to progress and innovate in the natural products industry. These awards not only aim to recognise the talent and efforts of researchers, but also to encourage further collaboration and visibility of applied science in this area. It is essential to support both senior and new researchers, as they are the ones who, with their work and dedication, are driving progress towards new solutions that improve people’s health and wellbeing.’
The Natac National Awards for Research are divided into two categories:
- Award for Senior Researchers: there will be a first prize of 10,000 euros and a second prize of 3,000 euros.
- Award for Young Researchers: there will be a single prize of 2,000 euros.
The period for the submission of applications will be open from February 7 to June 30, 2025. Those interested should send their applications through the official website of the contest, where they can check the terms and conditions and the necessary documentation to participate: Premios Natac
