Natac and IMDEA Nutrition forge a strategic alliance for the development and validation of natural ingredients

Natac Natural Ingredients (NAT), a biotechnology company specializing in the sustainable production of botanical extracts and omega-3 oils, has signed a collaborative R&D&I agreement with the Madrid-based IMDEA Nutrition Institute to promote the development and scientific validation of new natural ingredients aimed at improving health.
This partnership, which will initially last four years, will be particularly focused on the fields of nutraceuticals, plant extracts, and nutricosmetics, and will enable Natac to strengthen its product portfolio with greater scientific backing thanks to IMDEA’s in vitro, preclinical, and nutritional intervention studies.
Natac’s Scientific Director, Esther de la Fuente, emphasized that this agreement with the Madrid research center consolidates a collaboration that dates back several years. “For us, working with a leading public institute such as IMDEA on the clinical validation of our ingredients and their effects on health is essential, because we always seek to provide our products with solid scientific foundations,” she noted.
For her part, the Director of IMDEA Nutrition, Ana Ramírez de Molina, highlighted the strategic nature of the alliance by combining scientific knowledge, production capacity, and industrial application, which “makes it possible to bring the results of our research to society more quickly and to enhance our capabilities in the development of formulations based on the results we obtain, thereby enabling us to be more effective in promoting health through nutrition.”
